After reading this post yesterday I decided to try the leveling trick out. Started an Elementalist in NF, I got the ferry to Consulate, then to LA (roughly 900g), then ran with henchman to D'Alesso. Went back and forth between the European districts killing off ghouls...got to level 10 in less than 20 min.

Then took off to get max armor in Kaineng (from LA), and from Kaineng went to EoTN. Did it all as he mentioned with henchman and flagging them ahead and letting them kill off while I hang back. I'm sitting at Gunnar's now and haven't died yet! I'm not big on titles, so I'm just trying to go for the challenge to see if I can make it to 20 without dying. Have a ton of imperial commendations so I can get the rampage scrolls and level up, hopefully pretty quickly in Dwarven Boxing.

Thank you so much for posting this guide!

Spawn point trick is handy; you win a few internets.

I think I use an hour, not very sure, level from 1 - 5 an Ascalon character doing only Charr at the Gate quest :P~

at level 4 you get 120 xp for each charr kill, you need around 4k xp to level up, so i did that quest 10x something like that :P~

abandon your quest in town. if you have A mesmer burden's Quest killing that Rogue bull will also give youo 120xp

ps: i found out that killing the rogue bull is the reason why we have to feed the hungry devour later on.... :P~ too slow rofl 3 years.

I also found out, Mhenlo did not go to Cantha for training, all the while he's in Ashford Abbey, giving players quests :P~

PS: i know there are more charrs across the wall :P too

I had protector of Cantha on my ranger before getting survivor level 1.
I guess it all depends on your playing style.
(Died while afk in the Tyrian desert just short of level 2.)

Good information though.

GG.
Unlikely, ANet pays no attention to these forums. On topic, I didn't know about either of those, and I've been playing for three years . Thanks for sharing!

Since I learned something from the OP, I should pass on one of my own not-so-known tips.

Nolani Academy
Do not escort Rurik to horn hill. When you cross the wall, run to the right instead of the left. You will run across an open field and into the bottom of the city. No patrols will intercept you. Run up the stairs on the right-hand side where 2 humans and 2 charr should be fighting. Ignore them.

Go straight for Bonfaz Burntfur. Killing him will end the mission, saving yourself lots of time and many potential hardmode headaches from watching Rurik.

Fort Ranik
This is probably a little more well-known. If you head straight to the final catapult and launch it immediately, you will kill the final boss with it (he spawns at the base of the stairs before running up it). This will instantly end the mission. The final boss must not be spawned until you are at the bottom of the path and heading towards the catapult.

Gates of Kryta
To prevent people from finishing this mission five minutes or less, anet added a tree in the little passage that used to connect the ambush area (people farm it a lot; it's at the bottom of the hill) from the final swamp. However, if you simply walk infront of the tree and then click the ground behind it, you will pathfind through the tree. To finish the mission, kill all of the archers in the swamp and the final boss (do not need to kill the elementalists). No Justicars involved.

Gate of Madness
Probably more well-known than any of these tips. When you have opened the pathway to Shiro and the Lich, do not approach it. Instead, open your minimap with U and flag your heroes to the shrines inside the temple. Shiro and the Lich don't turn aggressive until a player approaches them, and the enemies at the shrines don't even spawn at this distance.

Thx. I didn't know those 2. I'll give them a try next time I'm in those missions.

I've had a lot of heartache in Gates of Kryta trying to map the Eastern edge. I found the wooden barrier towards the end of the mission and once even managed to get behind it (but died soon because my heros never followed). Could never repeat the trick.

Does it have to be completely 100% EMPTY? Or just no one else near the xp gain part? I've been through every district of D'Alessio, and all of them have at least 1 person in them. I've tried getting XP from the ghouls, and I've gotten XP about 3 times, and I'm not 100% sure where to stand to maximize my chances of getting it.

it doesn't have to be 100% empty, but you share XP with people in outposts too, even if they are level 20 they take a cut of the XP afaik.

If you want to level faster and with even less chance of dying (going for legendary survivor) you have to have finished GWEN with 1 char then simply get your new char to boreal station as a necro primary or secondary, use all life stealing skills and go and kill the frost wurms outside boreal station on HM, i twill cost u 80k in double xp scrols but you will easily get that cash back from the gold drops and items drops from the wurms just merching them.

Guaranteed easy, risk free legendary survivor, just dull, dull, dull

Thanks for the survivor tips...these were new to me. I did know about the door thing and was surprised how many ppl didn't.

As for lowest number of kills required for vanquishing, Zen Daijen is indeed only a tiger or crane. Budek Byway also requires only 1 kill, while Tahnnakai Temple requires 2. These require that certain quests be active or inactive while doing the vanquish. For details check out the wiki vanquish page. http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Vanquisher The footnotes "The Drunken Master" and "A Meeting With the Emperor" have the details.

i finally complete the gate of madness with master reward on my dervish hehehe, i wanted to delete her cos she lost the survival title. and she happens to be stuck at gate of madness.

The funny thing is, someone was there wanting to charge 7k for gate of madness run.

I'd like to point out how damn useful the GoM hint would have been two weeks ago, when it was my last obstacle in the way of Legendary Guardian. @_@

The warp in-warp-out-warp-in-resign thing I thought was pretty well known, since anyone who has ever raptor farmed should have used that.

The D'Alessio one is interesting. I just made a survivor girl [level 5 so far, has LA and KC] could use this boost to level 10.

Didnt know the respawn trick, but i have an easier and faster way to powerlevel
From creation to lvl 20 survivor in under 3 hours
basically
1 create character in NF, get run to Docks and get max armor and ferry to LA
2 Get olias and make him MM
3 Transfer to Kaineg city (make sure welcome to cantha and chasing zenmai quests are active but dont complete them until you are lvl 20
4 Bring only olias as MM and once you enter bukdek byway pick up mhenlo and both of his groups as allies, zenmai too(allies dont take away any experience points). then just clear the area with scrolls.

repeat step 4 until you are survivor.

I usually kick olias after i get to lvl 12 for more exp. Main thing is let your allies do most of the work, you just hang back and provide support
its not mandatory but i like to use an elite tome and a couple stars of transference to give myself a nice build to make it a lot faster and easier. also max runes and weapons on you and olias help.
